Burdan Yumurta production facilities, which began production in April 2010 in the Çayırlar area of the Canbaz village of the Karacabey district of Bursa province in order to reverse the process of migration from rural areas to urban areas, operates today with the cutting edge technology used worldwide in the egg production industry.

Burdan Yumurta is privileged due to the combination of its cutting edge production technologies, biosecurity mesures and quality of feed based on research and development activities. At the facility which operates with a fully automated system, the eggs go through all processes, from production to packaging, untouched by human hands and are delivered to the consumer.

We are striving to add value to the nutrient value of eggs, a rich source of protein, for human health in the production facilities of Burdan Yumurta.

For this purpose, as Burdan Yumurta, we always prioritize human health over everything else at the chick rearing facility, egg production facility and the weighing and packaging facility. We keep our poultry houses under control under supervision of veterinarians, we maintain our focus on hygiene.

Burdan Yumurta also transferred its quality and hygienic production principle to internationally recognised BRC Food Safety certification process. Work in this regard is ongoing.

EGG PRODUCTION FACILITY

Burdan Eggs are produced in the modern facilities established on a total area of 300.000 m2 with cutting edge production technologies and biosecurity measures, in the Canbaz village of the Karacabey district of Bursa province by Matlı A.Ş., which transferred its 29 years of professional feed production experience to egg production. When the project is completed, the facilities of Burdan Yumurta which currently produce 1.850.000 eggs/day, is expected to reach a production capacity of 2.100.000 eggs/day.

FACILITIES

Burdan Yumurta production facilities, which are established on a total area of 300.000 m2 in the Canbaz village of the Karacabey district of Bursa, comprises three separate facilities within.

- Chick rearing facility.

- Egg production facility.

- Egg weighing and packaging facility. 

CHICK GROWING FACILITY

There are four poultry  houses established on a total area of 56.000 m2 with an indoor area of 10.500 m2. The houses have a total capacity of 620.000 chicks. At the chick rearing facility, there is also a social facility as well as the poultry houses. 

Poultry House Automation Systems

Feeding, lighting and ventilation are fully automated at the chick houses. Automation is ensured with temperature, humidity and water pressure sensors and timers.

Chick houses are convenient with regards to sufficient and clean air and proper temperature for the animals to live healthy. Thanks to the ventilation and heating systems inside the houses, the temperature is kept at the desired levels all 12 months of the year.

Poultry House Biosecurity Systems

High-level biosecurity measures are applied at the chick rearing facilities in order to ensure the healthy rearing of chicks. Water consumed by chicks go through UV disinfection unit after going through two different filters upon leaving the reservoir. Feed that is fed to chicks are supplied compliant to legal requirements in this field and 25-year feed production experience of Matlı A.Ş. . All practices in the houses are controlled by the veterinarian in charge of the facility. Parameters such as water and feed intake, mean daily temperature, etc. are being carefully monitored with a computer and recorded. At Burdan Yumurta chick rearing facility, all conditions for the healthy rearing of animals are met.

EGG PRODUCTION FACILITY

There are 12 poultry houses with a capacity of 1.850.000 chickens at Burdan Yumurta egg production facility which is established  on a total area of 244.000 m2 with an indoor area of 31.750 m2. All automation and biosecurity systems are in place at the cage system which consists of 8 floors. At Burdan Yumurta egg production facility, there is a social facility as well as the houses.

When the project of Burdan Yumurta egg production facilities is completely realized, there will be a total of 14 poultry houses with the addition of two new EU type enriched cages, six of the 14 houses will have a capacity of 125.000 chickens/house and the remaining eight houses will have a capacity of 175.000 chickens/house. Thus the aim is to have an indoor area of 36.000  m2, a capacity of 2.150.000 chickens and 1.850.000 eggs/day.

 Poultry Houses Automation Systems

Chicks at 16 weeks of age are transported to Burdan Yumurta egg production facilities after necessary controls are carried out by the official veterinarian. At our poultry houses, feeding, lighting and ventilation systems are fully automated. Automation is ensured with pressure, temperature, humidity, water pressure sensors and timers.

At Burdan Yumurta egg production facilities, poultry houses are very suitable with regards to the sufficient and clean air and proper temperature for the animals to live healthy. Kümeslerde havalandırma ve ısıtma sistemi sayesinde sıcaklık yılın 12 ayı istenen seviyelerde tutulmaktadır.

EGG WEIGHING AND PACKAGING FACILITY

Burdan Eggs are transported from the cages in the production facility to the weighing and packaging facility over conveyor belts through indoor tunnels without being affected by the external environment. 

Separation of Dirty – Cracked Eggs

Burdan Eggs which are transported to the full-automatic sorting and packaging machine over the conveyor belts, are first subject to separation by the dirty-cracked egg detector and then they go through a UV system which eliminates harmful microorganisms on the outer surface of eggs.

UV System

Egg shells are of a permeable structure. The microorganisms which form on the outer surface of the egg penetrates the shell and reduces its life and causes it to spoil faster. UV process which is applied to all eggs at Burdan Yumurta egg production facilities, eliminates all harmful microorganisms on the egg thus enhances the quality of the egg and extends its shelf life.

Weighing 

UV process, which is applied to all eggs at Burdan Yumurta egg production facilities eliminates harmful microorganisms on Burdan Eggs. Eggs which are free from harmful microorganisms  then go to the weighing section. Here the eggs are weighed individually with 0,01 gr precision, untouched by human hands. The eggs are sorted according to their weights.

Today, it is possible to collect 120.000 eggs/hour with the sorting machine at Burdan Yumurta egg production facilities, which operate with cutting edge technology used worldwide. Sorting machine which sorts eggs according to their weights can prepare 6-egg, 10-egg, 15-egg and 30-egg packages. Thanks to these machines which carry out sorting and weighing, it is possible to carr out packaging in line with the weighing range set out by the relevant legislation.

Product Tracing

The ID numbers of poultry houses are written on the sorted Burdan Eggs before packaging. Later, production date, expiry date and batch number are written on the package and thus all products are identified. Burdan Yumurta, which prioritizes product tracing system, customer satisfaction and food safety, thus ensures the traceability of its products.
